Public Speaking

Why is it that society believes that public speaking is important? Everyone talks about public speaking the way they talk about getting tonsils removed. So why must we be subjected to it? Before getting up in front of people, I just freak out, so why? Why?

TGIF

I really hate using texting initialisms outside of actual texting, but........eh. Speaking of which, the best part of my day.....well, the funniest, was when my first period teacher yelled "OMG!" after talking to another teacher told her something.....I wish I knew what happened. The best part of my day was when one of the art teachers at my school, who I know through art club, said I could skip Art I and go straight to Art II! Art I is always sad, most of the class is a headache because of the kids who need the art credit, don't like art, and like to cause trouble. Now I have time in my schedule for AP Studio Art or IB Studio Art in senior year. Which is better AP or IB? Or, which would be better for someone who isn't in the IB program? Answers Appreciated!

Office Preparation

The best way to prepare for a new episode of The Office is a can of Diet Coke and a playing Pokemon for an hour. I love thursdays.

College

I'm a freshman, so I know I shouldn't be worrying about college, but I can't help it. I have a friend who plans to graduate early, go to college early, graduate from college early, and be a diplomat. What am I doing? blogging.....to no one. We have started choosing courses for next year, but the question is... french IV or Art? If I take french again next year, I either take Art I or Ceramics II....but, I hate french. Not the language, the class. I'm horrible with public speaking, so it really isn't my forte. I am required to take 3 years of a language, but the counselors all tell us to take four to "spice up our college applications." I want to go to an art college, and I think they would prefer I take an art class rather than another year of french. Any opinions? I need help. If you went to an art college....which one? I'm looking at RISD, SCAD, and Pratt, but those are the big leagues and I don't know how likely it is that I will get in....*crosses fingers*
